WGS 401-02: Intimate Partner Violence & Sexual Assault - Theory, Research, Policy & Advocacy
In partnership with RISE and SAFER, Cal Poly Women's & Gender Studies Department is pleased to offer WGS 401, in Winter 2017, on Monday and Wednesday, 8-10 a.m.
About WGS 401
Explore and investigate existing theory, research, policy and advocacy approaches related to intimate partner violence and sexual assault; emphasis on trauma-informed, survivor-centered, social-ecological models of violence/prevention and the complex intersections of gender and sexuality with race, ethnicity, class, nation, age, religion and/or able-bodiedness.
This course counts toward 40 of the 65 hours necessary to become a California Certified Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor.
Prerequisite
The prerequisite for this course is WGS 201 or consent of instructor. Recommended: Junior standing.
